New Appointment System

From October 1st, we are introducing a new approach to the care we offer you.

We will move away from a “first come, first served” approach to an approach based on clinical need and urgency.

The aim of this is to get you the best solution as quickly as possible.

When you approach us, we will ask you to answer a few questions to get an idea of what you need. Your answers will be reviewed by a doctor who will decide what the best and quickest solution is and we will then get back to you that same day – usually in the morning of the same day.

This can include:

A pre-booked appointment with the most appropriate clinician (doctor, nurse, physio, pharmacist, social prescriber etc)

Asking you to go to a local pharmacy, if this can meet your need quickly

A blood test or other investigation with one of our nursing team

A same-day appointment (please note, this could be at any time of the day so you may be asked to come back at a later time to see the clinician)

This will be the same whether you contact us face to face, by phone or via our website. The information you provide will be held in confidence and if you would prefer to write your answers down rather than speaking at reception, then we will enable you to do this.

Please work with us to establish this new way of working. This new approach is fairer and ensures you are directed to the right service for your needs, without unnecessary delay.

Thank you – please come back to us if you have any queries.
